"What's in the Mirror" Interactive Children's Story

Start the conversation about diversity and race with children using this specially written pop-up children’s book. Open-ended tinkering prompts and conversation starter questions are embedded throughout the story to foster a deeper engagement with the themes of kindess and diversity within the book.
 
As an extension activity, the book highlights 14 emotions experienced by the characters. Children can experiment with re-creating these emotions using loose parts, and in doing so open up discussions about feelings and avenues of communication. Further exploration into portraying emotion while wearing a mask (think eyebrows!) is also possible using bits from the kit.
